After becoming a vampire, he became even more reckless, since he knew that his new vampire body could withstand insane amounts of punishment, hence he could get away with even more dangerous stunts. His hastiness and impatience caused conflicts for everyone and often got his friends in troubles. Has one long scar running down his left cheek, which is a result of him trying to kiss Evanna in his youth. He's described as a tall, lanky man with short orange cropped hair (which was dyed when he was a child as an identification brand while he worked in a factory) and a long red coat. He's the protagonist of the The Saga of Larten Crepsley, which shows how he became a vampire. Though Crepsley has acted cold towards Darren and tests him under a guise of friendliness, he also shows concern for him and regrets changing him after seeing Darren's unhappiness. He sees great potential in Darren and bloods him so that he can train him. Larten Crepsley (ラーテン・クレプスリー Raaten Kurepusuri) is a vampire who works as a spider-tamer at Cirque du Freak and Darren Shan's guardian. In the final scene, Darren gets his own coffin and beds down in it, fully accepting his new life as a member of the Cirque du Freak.Alive (alternate timeline at the end of the series) Gavner Purl suggests that Crepsley and Darren leave now, but Crepsley wants to give Darren a good day's rest first. The vote is "yes." Later, Darren admits to Crepsley that he once wished he'd never seen the Cirque but now he can't imagine life any other way. Mr Tall asks for a vote from the freaks as to whether Darren should be made a member of the Cirque. Madame Truska praises Crepsley for "sticking his neck out" to help Darren. Darren and Rebecca share a kiss, then the three of them flit home. Darren is allowed to say goodbye to his family before Crepsley erases their memories of all that has happened. He turns Murlaugh into a little person and revives his body, then he and Steve leave together. The war begins." Darren and Steven then go at each other, but Mr Tiny stops the fight, telling them that it's not time for them to fight.yet. With his dying breath, Murlaugh says, "The truce.100 years.is over. Having fed on Rebecca's blood, Daren is able to push Steve off Crepsley, giving him time to pick up the knife and stab Murlaugh, while Mr Tiny ( Michael Cerveris) watches from the balcony, an amused smile on his face. Just when it looks like Murlaugh ( Ray Stevenson) and Steve have the upper hand on Crepsley, Darren enters the theater.
